Arlington, Tx-Police say a 6-year-old boy is in grave condition after being shot in the head by his older sibling Sunday afternoon.
The boy was rushed to Mansfield Methodist Medical Center, but was then flow to Cook Chidren’s Medical Center.
The shooting was reported at about 4:30 p.m. in the 1400 block of Cloyne Dive in southeast Arlington.
Police said the victim was shot by his brother who is 10 or 11 years old and who may be a child with special needs.
The boy got a hold of a .22 caliber ridge, pointed it at his little brother and pulled the trigger.
The victim’s six-year-old sister was also struck by shrapnel.
Police say the victim’s parents denied owning the rifle.
An older teenage sibling told police he purchased the firearm on the street.
No arrests have been made at this time.
