Schenectady-A 12-year-old boy stabbed another child Monday and stole the wounded child’s bicycle.
The boy who was stabbed was 13 and sustained a stab wound to the back, according to police.
The incident took place at about 5:30 p.m. near the intersection of Becker and James streets near Central Park.
Police interviewed the victim and he provided police a description of the person who did it.
Police found the suspected stabbed with the bicycle. He was taken into custody and interviewed by detectives.
Police did not release the boy’s name due to his age. He was being held at a secure juvenile detention facility and the case will be handled in Schenectady County Family Court.
The victim’s injuries were non-life threatening.
