Milwaukee, WI – A Milwaukee police officer was shot on Wednesday morning during a warrant service.
The shooting occurred at about 9:45 a.m. on Feb. 6 as officer executed a search warrant near the intersection of South 12th and W. Dakota Streets, three blocks south of Lincoln Avenue.
Milwaukee firefighters and Marquette University police officers arrived on the scene shortly after the incident, according to WISN.Law enforcement sources told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel that the shooter has been taken into custody.
Milwaukee Police Chief Alfonso Morales and Mayor Tom Barrett were at the scene of the incident.
Police have not yet released an update of the officer’s condition.
