Charlotte, NC-Police said two men put several people’s lives in danger Tuesday evening as they led police on a high-speed chase across Charlotte during rush hour.
Police say Damian’s Fowler was driving the car and faces more than a dozen charges. Dayshon Dogan was with him and was also arrested.
Police say the chase started on Margaret Wallace Road when officers tried to serve warrants and the men took off.
Chopper 9 Skyzoom was overhead as police followed the vehicle as it weaved in and out of rush hour traffic.
The driver blew through intersections, at times driving on the wrong side of the road.
Chopper 9 watched as the vehicle drove from East Charlotte, avoiding several crashes.
At one point, the vehicle even drove up onto the sidewalk on North Tyron Street in North Carolina.
The car also drove through a park in the area, before hopping back onto North Tyron Street and moving onto Old Concord Road.
The driver also passed several vehicles, including school buses, crossing over double yellow lines. The suspects jumped from the car near Milton Road and The Plaza.
A witness, who did not want to be identified, was outside of his apartments where the suspects ditched the car. “At first, I thought the car was going to hit me because it kept going,” the witness said.
Both men ran into a nearby wooded area before eventually surrendering to police.
No injuries have been reported.
