Chattanooga, TN--Chattanooga Police Department say a police officer was struck and killed by a car

Chattanooga, TN--Chattanooga Police Department say a police officer was struck and killed by a car on the 2900 block of Hamill Road while he was inspecting a manhole cover.

Officer Nicholas Galinger was hit by a car which fled after striking him.

The car fled the scene and police are now searching for the suspect who was driving a 2017/2018 Honda CRV with heavy front-end damage.
