Chicago, IL- A Chicago man is in custody after he spit in an Illinois State Police Trooper’s coffee.
Vincent J. Sealer, 25, was arrested on July 31st in Chicago and charged with disorderly conduct, reckless conduct, and battery to a peace officer.
On July 30, 2020, a trooper bought a large black coffee from Dunkin Donuts at 6738 West Archer Avenue in Chicago. When the trooper took the lid off of the coffee, he saw a large piece of mucus floating inside. Illinois State Police say they later confirmed it to be saliva.
ISP District Chicago Troopers immediately initiated an investigation that ultimately led to Sessler's arrest. He is an employee at the franchise.
“This is outrageous and disgusting. The men and women of the Illinois State Police put their heart and soul into protecting the lives and rights of all people in this state every day,” said ISP Director Brendan F. Kelly. “They deserve better than this insulting and dangerous treatment. For their safety, ISP officers and employees will be prohibited from patronizing this location,” he added.
