In the wake of the death of George Floyd, a new movement was born " Defund the Police movement. A movement that has had a significant amount of support and has had a devastating impact on communities.
America has seen a historic rise in crime. One that many attribute to the recent movement " Defund the Police". While only a small portion of departments have actually had their funds cut, the problem lies deeper within the movement than just the name. Within the movement, there are calls for more police accountability, more transparency and overall calls to have more well trained police to better deal with situations which on the surface, sounds great, but After a long look at the movement, Americans have asked themselves, Is that really the goal of the movement? How could a police department that has been defunded pay for more training, Better officers and or reform which would set the department back millions or even billions in some big cities?
Many Americans have come to the conclusion that the movement does not really care about public safety. The movement doesn't appear to truly want or care for all of the aforementioned things. Instead, the movement seeks to remove or break down law Enforcement.
If that isn't scary enough, well... This movement has been back by some high profile people in society. People like celebrities, politicians and even some leaders of major cities. well, It worked. The higher crime rate can be attributed to the fallout from the movement. Bail reform, Less Proactive police and police officers just walking off the job in fear of being the next " example" of what happens when you do your job and it doesn't look good. For Example, the once flourishing NYC has seen an astronomical rise in crime. For the month of November, there was a +112.5% (115 v. 51) increase in shootings citywide. And shootings have risen +95.8% (1,412 v. 721) through the first 11 months of 2020, compared with the same period last year.
Though major cities are on the rise as far as crime, there is another scary movement on the rise. Cancel culture, and they are coming right for the police officers bill of rights which if they manage to remove, could bring the us right into the Endgame.
