Lincoln, NE-Lincoln Police arrested a 15 year old on Sunday after he stole a car, crashed it, and ran from officers.
Shortly after 8 p.m., a 19 year old woman reported she left her vehicle unlocked and running while she went into her home. THe incident occurred near 23rd and Potter St. The woman told police that she returned to her 2009 Toyota Camry twenty minutes later when she realized it was stolen. A short time later, police observed the car near 32nd and T St. Officer attempted to conduct a traffic stop, when the driver lost control and went onto the curb.
The officer attempted to take the 15 year old driver into custody however he fled on foot. Officers eventually took the teen into custody and he was arrested for felony theft, willful reckless driving, and refusing to comply with the lawful order of a police officer.
