A Brooklyn man has been charged with murder after police said he called 911 to report his mother was killed.
Anne Arundel County police said they were called around 3 p.m. Thursday to the 5200 block of Wasena Avenue in Brooklyn for a reported burglary. The caller told the 911 dispatcher that his mother had been murdered and the burglar ran out of the home.
Arriving officers found Brent Ryan Faulkner, 25, outside the home, where he lived, and identified him as the caller, police said.
Officials said officers entered the home to look for possible victims and suspects and found a woman suffering from apparent trauma. Fire officials arrived and pronounced the woman dead, police said. The victim was identified as Dona Lee Faulkner, 52, the mother of Brent Faulker of the same address. Brent Faulkner was taken to Criminal Investigation Division to be interviewed. Evidence was found on him and on his clothing, officials said.
