Zebulon, NC-A 33-year old man who does not speak English used a translator on his phone to tell a girl he had just raped that she was pretty.
The Wake County Sherri’s Office made a statement that Victor Emandes-Ramirez, of Wake County, was arrested January 9 following an investigation into a sexual assault that had occurred earlier that day.
Deputies were called to a Wake County High School on January 9 around 7:35 a.m. for a reported rape.
The victim, a 15-year-old girl, told police that a man named “Victor” kidnapped her while she was walking to her bus stop and drove her to a shed behind a nearby home.
The suspect raped her in the shed and then took her back to his car. He then drove her to school and used Google Translate on his phone to tell the victim that she looked pretty and to not tell her brothers what had happened.
A warrant shows that the victim told police that the suspect was wearing pants with white paint on them. After reviewing surveillance footage from the high school, police see her getting out of a vehicle that matched one owned by Emandes-Ramirez.
Emandez-Ramirez was arrested and processed at the Wake County Detention Center. He is being charged with first-degree kidnapping, statutory rape of a child 15 years of age or younger, and statutory sex offense with a child 15 years of age or younger. He is being help under a $1 million bond.
