Milwaukee, WI- A 13-year-old girl was wounded Sunday night after a stray bullet went through her bedroom wall, Milwaukee police said.
It happened around 10:30 p.m. near the intersection of 76th Street and Green Tree Road.
Milwaukee police said occupants in moving cars were shooting at each other on North 76th Street.
A stray bullet went through the back of a nearby apartment building and grazed the teenager.
The bullet brushed the girl's leg. A young child who was also in the room wasn’t hurt.
A family friend, Jolene Reit, said, ‘You can't even be safe in your own house. You can't even be in your own room without people arguing and bringing out guns. People just need to put the guns down, you know, and just talk it out because she could have been dead," Reit said.
Police are asking the public for any information in reference.
