Muskogee, OK-Muskogee Police confirm that a person is dead in an officer-involved shooting incident that took place in the 1500 block of North 18th Street.
Officers responded for a domestic incident at approximately 3 p.m. that occurred inside a residence, where a man stabbed a woman and refused to comply with officers that came to the house.
Police found two women who had been stabbed inside the residence and another who had been hit in the head. They were taken to a local hospital.
A man, carrying a large knife, was also inside the residence. Officer’s gave several commands for him to drop the knife, however he refused to comply. Officers attempted to use a taser on him, but it was ineffective.
Officers went outside and set up a perimeter outside the house. The man came out of the house with the knife at which time officers fired bean bag projectiles and a stun grenade at him which were also ineffective. The man continued to ignore police commands to drop the knife, and officers fire on him, killing him. The suspect was a white male, however his name and age have not been made public at this time.
