A Northampton Area School District bus driver was allegedly under the influence of alcohol and driving erratically with 26 students on board Friday, according to Pennsylvania State Police.
44 year old Lori non Mankos, of walnutport, Parked her bus at a Sunoco gas station, got off the bus and walked away leaving the bus full of kids unattended. There were 26 students were left on the bus until school officials from the district responded out to the scene. Police found Mankos at home and took her into custody.
​She faces 26 counts of endangering the welfare of children, in addition to single counts of driving under the influence of alcohol, careless driving and reckless driving, police said. Court records do not indicate she had been arraigned as of Saturday morning. Mankos could not be reached immediately for comment because no phone number could be found for her.
