Northeast, MD-Maryland State Police are searching Maryland and neighboring states for a man and possibly others connected to an armed home invasion and assault on a pregnant woman in Cecil County.
Police released a photograph of a man who they said, along with three others, was involved in an armed home invasion at an apartment complex in North East on April 25.
"It was violent in the sense that there was a pregnant woman there in the apartment, and she was kicked in the stomach and had to be transported to the hospital," said Elena Russo, spokesperson for the Maryland State Police.
"So right now, police are not just combing all of the leads that they are getting in Maryland, but also looking into Pennsylvania and Delaware because they are really having a tough time finding these suspects," said Russo.
Police said they believe the assailant(s) had handguns and violently assaulted a pregnant woman inside her apartment before fleeing. Police said they do not believe this is a random act of violence.
Anyone with an information is asked to call police at 410-996-7814 or 410-996-7800.
