Staten Island, NY- A police officer has been shot on Staten Island, but she is expected to survive.
The officer, who was shot in the wrist, was on duty when the gunfire broke out on Prince Street just before 9 a.m. The officer joined the department in January 2016 and is 31-years-old.
One senior NYPD official reported a suspect was also shot and taken to a hospital in critical condition. The suspect’s gun was recovered at the scene.
No other details are available at this time.
