St. Clair Township, PA-Pennsylvania State Police troopers are continuing to investigate and incident where a 1-ear-old child was recorded inhaling from a vaping device.
The video began circulating on social media on Sunday and showed the child inhaling from the device and coughing. State Police said that the people involved in this incident have been identified and charges of child endangerment are pending.
During a press conference, PA State Police said a 17-year-old was babysitting the child at a residence in St. Clair Township when the child took the vaping device and began using it.
The 17-year-old babysitter and an 18-year-old woman who was also present at the time allowed the child to inhale from the device, and police say one or both of the teenagers made a video recording of the incident. It was posted to the social media platform Snapchat.
The device is believed to have contained 3% nicotine, police said. No THC was int he device.
Police said the child did not display any visible effects, other than coughing, after inhaling the device contents.
Police notified the child’s parents, who were unaware of the incident.
