ADRIAN, MI Police are seeking the help of the public To identify a man wanted in an attempted abduction. The picture above is a sketch drawn up by a sketch artist in reference to an attempted abduction that occurred earlier in the month.
The victim, 29, had parked her car at about 10 a.m.., Jan. 31 in the Meijer parking lot, 217 E. US 223, and was walking to the store when she was approached by a man who asked her what time it was, according to the Adrian Police Department.
The victim who will not be identified at this time was walking to her car when she pulled out her phone to check the time at which point the suspect grabbed her phone and pulled her toward his truck. The suspect told the victim that if she made any noise or caused a scene that he would shoot her.
A short struggle between the two ensued and the woman was thrown to the ground. The woman was able to get up and run into the store and dial 911. The suspect was driving a gray over gray, 2002 to 2008 Dodge Ram pickup which was recorded on nearby security video, police said.Anyone with information about the man, the involved pickup truck or any other aspect of the incident is asked to contact Adrian Police Detective LaMar Rufner at (517)264-4834.
