San Antonio, TX-Two San Antonio police officers fatally shot a robbery suspect on the East Side Monday afternoon after he opened fire on them.
Police believe the suspect robbed a man in his home near Iowa and South Pine streets around 2 p.m., shooting the man before fleeing in a black Honda Accord. Street Crime Unit officers located the vehicle and attempted to pull the car over. The car eventually stopped, and the suspect ran out and fired towards police. One bullet struck the windshield of the squad car, while another one hit the passenger side door.
Officers returned fire and struck the man. He was transported to the hospital where he later died. A woman and a young child were in the vehicle driven by the shooter, however they were unharmed.
