Search teams have gathered in an attempt to locate two missing girls who disappeared from a rural home in Humboldt County.
Search teams are using helicopters, search dogs and multiple teams as they search the surrounding areas. The girls 5, and 8 were last seen outside the home around 230 P.M. Friday. They asked their mother if they could go for a walk, however She Sid no they could not go by themselves. A short time later, the mother said she could not locate the kids.
Friends, family and members from the Humboldt County Sheriff’s department began searching but to no avail. Family and friends scoured the nearby woods Friday afternoon and then contacted authorities, who searched through the night to no avail. On Saturday, personnel from several other Northern California counties joined the hunt for the girls. Ten search teams from various agencies combed the rugged, hilly area while the U.S. Coast Guard conducted aerial searches.
