Sterling, KS-The Kansas Bureau of Investigation identified the two officers shot Monday evening in Sterling as the Rice County Sheriff and the Rice County Undersheriff.
Sheriff Bryant Evans was shot in the leg and taken to a hospital in Lyons. Undersheriff Chad Murphy was shot in the neck and transported to Wichita.
The man suspected of shooting them as 37-year-old David L. Madden.
There are no further details at this time.
